1st Grade Reading Intervention
We are using the Road to Reading Series.
Skills that we will be reviewing are:
Identify all consonant sounds.
Identify the five short vowel sounds.
Read and spell closed syllables with all five short vowels and single consonants.
Identify the digraphs the, ch, sh, and -ck.
Read and spell closed syllable words with the digraphs th, ch, sh, and -ck.

Goals for the Orange Level:
Read and spell closed syllables with double final consonants -ll, -ss, and -ff.
Read and spelll closed syllables with initial l blends, r blends, s blends, and tw.
REad and spell closed syllables with final blends.
REad and spell closed syllable words with -s and -ing when there is no change to the spelling of the base word.
